About

Chatham Area Transit runs the Savannah Belles, a free passenger ferry service that started in 2000. Boats cross from River Street (the City Hall and Waving Girl landings) to Hutchinson Island, by the convention center and the Westin.

The vessels are named for notable Savannah women, including Juliette Gordon Low, Susie King Taylor, Florence Martus (the Waving Girl) and Mary Musgrove. The short ride is an easy way to see the riverfront skyline from the water.
